As promised, I have a whole bunch of stuff to talk about that happened since I arrived back at RWU after spring break and I even have pictures this time! Okay, maybe just one… (Thanks, Ruddy!)
I brought a new friend back to school with me who is now living in my dorm room. He is a blue beta fish named Mr. Finn, or Finius. For being a fish he is pretty entertaining, though out of all the fish in the sea I think I picked the craziest one. Quite often when I come back to my room I find him under the rocks stuck (or sleeping??) so then I have to save the day. Luckily it is always a happy ending for my little friend, but I am seriously considering switching to pebbles.
On Wednesday, CEN had a photo booth in the Lower Commons as a part of March Meltdown. It was just like one of those photo booths that can be found in malls, but free! I don’t really have much else to say about it other than that it was awesome.
In my Anthropology class on Thursday my professor showed us clips of…. WALL-E!!! That movie is without a doubt my favorite Disney Pixar movie ever, so needless to say I really enjoyed that class. I never even thought of looking at Wall-E from a cultural perspective, but in reality a lot of the movie can be looked at that way. Wall-E and Eve both utilize the “trash” differently, and at one point Wall-E even threw away a diamond ring and kept the box because he wanted something with a function. Think about it, how many of us would keep the ring BOX instead of the diamond ring?! Maybe it’s just a movie, but still, I’d rather analyze it since I have seen it 10.5 billion times…
Friday evening was CEN’s RELEASE PARTY! Sometimes I am not the best at explaining what events looked like, so since a picture is worth 1,000 words… just look at it and see for yourself
The guy on stage was Basic Physics, the artist we won through a Facebook contest. Pretty cool, huh? The release party was a countdown to the announcement of the spring concert, with Maui Wowi smoothies, an oxygen bar, food and a lounge area. Oh, and in case you’re wondering our spring concert this year is…..
THE WHITE PANDA, FAR EAST MOVEMENT AND GYM CLASS HEROES!!!
On Saturday night to finish off March Meltdown was Last Hawk Standing, hosted by one of our COREs here at the university and featuring current students. These students were competing for “best seat in the house” tickets for our final comedian (don’t worry, I’ll tell you shortly), tickets to a comedian of their choice and an opportunity to open for our final comedian as well. The students, and our host, were hilarious!! Our final comedian was in the movie Dumb & Dumber, Employee of the Month, and more…
After a busy week, I’m looking forward to getting to relax (hopefully) and not be loaded with a bunch of homework. *Knock on Wood*
Talk to you soon!
