If you are visiting RWU’s campus this summer, I highly recommend visiting the historic downtown of Bristol. Roger Williams University is located only a few minutes away and you will be pleasantly surprised of what Bristol has to offer. Visit Historic Bristol to learn more about one of New England’s hidden treasures.
If you cannot get enough of the beautiful coastline of Rhode Island I recommend traveling only 30 minutes up the road to Newport, RI.
Newport has its own feel with fine dining, shopping on Thames Street and scenic walking tours of historic mansions. If you feel adventurous you can always make reservations on one of the many sailboats that offer tours of Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay.
Lastly, when leaving RI and if time allows I recommend visiting Providence, RI. Providence has its own shopping on Thayer Street,Federal Hill for Italian food dining and WaterFire which I always take advantage of over the summer.
PS. Visit our campus visit page to sign up for a student guided campus tour!!

RWU celebrated its 42nd commencement this past Saturday, May 19th, 2012, on a beautiful, cloudless, sunny day. 1,120 students received their degrees; in addition 183 law school degrees were awarded on Friday, May 20th, 2012.
Madeline K. Albright, nominated by President William Clinton in 1966, former US ambassador to the United Nations, and 1st female Secretary of State, gave the commencement address. She urged our students to make sure everything you do “enriches your journey on this earth.”
On behalf of the Admission Office we want you to know that we will miss each and every one of you especially those who worked for the Admissions Office at RWU. We personally wish to thank Brittney, Katie, Marissa, Rosa, Amber, Hilary, Jackie, Julia and Kristen for your endless hours of devotion, tours, meeting with families, attending OPEN HOUSES and ACCEPTED STUDENT DAYS, answering phones and working on endless projects. You will always be remembered, truly missed, but we wish you a lifetime of happiness and success.
Until we meet again… Au revoir and enjoy !!!!!!!

We are thrilled to report that the class of 2016 has been composed and we are excited!!! Each Applicant has been carefully reviewed and selected by our talented Counselors with the hope that they will be contributing members of the RWU Community.
The members of ’16 are dancers, composers, athletes, engineers, architects and scholars. They hail from all corners of the USA as well as several other countries.
When Applicants were asked what they liked most about RWU they shared a few thoughts:
“The View, The Food, The Cool Oyster Project, The Entrance, The Athletic Facilities,” and the list goes on and on.
So… during this beautiful Season of Spring-even though we have been a little short on sun-as you get ready to leave Campus for Summer Break, take a moment to reflect-What did you like most when you first came to RWU?
If you get a chance stop by the Admission’s Office and share your thoughts.
Be assured as you pack up for Summer we will again be pounding the pavement meeting and greeting the candidates for the Class of 2017!
The Admission’s Office is always a bustle of activity. We are just as excited each year to begin the process of composing the next Freshman class of RWU.
Wishing you all a safe and happy Summer.
